Our Story
Why we started New Fishing Guide — and why we can’t stop

My grandfather fished every morning of his retirement. As a kid I’d sit beside him on the dock, mostly bored, occasionally excited when something tugged the line. I never really learned the craft — I just sat and watched.
He passed away when I was 32. A year later, grieving and restless, I drove to the same lake with a borrowed rod and a bag of tackle I didn’t know how to use. I sat on that dock for three hours. Caught nothing. Felt everything.
I went back weekly. Slowly I learned — the right knots, the right bait, reading the water, understanding seasons. Fishing became my meditation, my patience practice, my connection to something bigger.
New Fishing Guide exists because figuring all of this out alone took years. You shouldn’t have to wait that long.
